Throttle Positioning Sensor

So I’ve been having problems with my 08 Mastiff EFI , it’s been in the shop for over a month. Part of it is that there is no big dog Mechanics in the area and I’m not mechanically inclined. However the guy working on my bike is figuring stuff out, thanks to the forum and a lot of research. I m being told I need a Throttle Positioning Sensor, we cannot seem to locate one that works for the bike. He found one but was slightly different if anyone here can help us out or guide us in the right direction I d greatly appreciate it.

S&S has all the EFI components too. With a little research, you can even find their suppliers.

To buy from S&S you will likely need to go through an S$S dealer such as WSW or Mcgroom.

Curious, why he thinks the TPS is bad? Easy to verify with S&S protune. Let me know if you need help

Describe how that bike ran. Twitchy? Responsive? Fouls plugs? Problems like?

He calls the TPS and it's not it, that's out of his pocket. A fucking month to figure out a computer bike? WATThe fuk are you kidding?

well he had to re do the wire plus the guy that initialy did the wire plus did it really sloppy and wires were lose. The bike would start but would die unless i kept giving it gas. he is a decent Mechanic there is not to many people in my area that know about these bikes. i did the wire plus and the fuel pump is constantly on. is it supposed to work like this.

Cruz,

First lets get to the running of the bike. In your best recall, describe as best you can how the bike ran. Did it foul plugs? Did is run like crap? Do the plugs look black ask him?

Signed,

Did I call it or watt?

You are chasing your tail, not me. I cannot diagnose a bike that the OP says it 'has problems.' We on the same page yet? I've got all day. I'm old.

Yes fuel pump runs constant when bike is running. When wire plus was installed, was a separate circuit added to maintain B+ to the EFI controller? (note this is not part of the WP install instructions). If not, this will rip power form the module every key off and lose all you adaptive maps and IAC position which controls idle.

Unless you have thrown a TPS fault or have verified its out of range (~0.4v-4.7v) I question if thats the issue. Is the check engine light on?

You need to get protune hooked up so you can use the diagnostics and not have to part swap to diagnose.

I got your PM, left you a voicemail and my number. Feel free to call to discuss.
