THROTTLE CABLE

I'm kind of confused here. What is the difference between a Idle cable and a throttle cable? I went to Wild Steel Worx looking to replacing a cable on a 04 Chopper. He doesn't seem to list one for a 04. Just 05 and up. And he list either a idle cable or throttle cable. Now I'm not sure which one I need since I don't know the difference. Can someone please explain the difference to me? Thanks.

Throttle cable opens the butterfly. Idle cable would close the butterfly if the spring would break and not return it to the closed position. It's a safety thing. Call Curtis if you don't see it on his web site.

I am not sure but I understand that 04 and before BDM can get certain parts a local Harley Davidson Store. You may want to check with them or call Donna or Derek (BIGDOGPARTSKING on e-bay) at 620-257-2009 they should be able to get you what you need if they have it. The cables are both the same except on is used for throttle and the other returns the throttle back to the idle position. I have several spare sets and have never noticed any difference between which is which. If you can measure the one you have let me know the total length and If I have one that is close to what you have I'll send it to you .

OK here is my update. Thanks to Frank I now understand. After reading your answer it seems so clear now. I just went ahead and ordered one from Wild Steel Worx. So all is good. Thanks Carlos for the offer.
