To check the red wire on the EHC i would have to do it with a multimeter, right ?


Is the EHC the reason why my low beam light most of the time doesn't turn on? 95% of the time im running the high beam and sometimes i switch back to the low beam just to see if it works and sometimes it does but goes out and comes back on when ever it wants.

It could be the EHC but it could also be a blown out headlight so I'd try a new bulb first...

It's most likely the bulb socket has melted or has a bad connection. If the EHC senses that a low beam has burnt out or there is too little current draw, it will switch over to the high beam.

Ok. I have gotta go out today and buy a multimeter so that i can perform the checks DRBarnhart suggested me to do. Meanwhile , yesterday, i started the dog up and it starts fine. I took it out to test it and for about a half mile there was no problem. As soon as i got to the gate of my house , the dog died and started leaking a lot of fuel through a clear small hose that come down from what it looks like the tank and goes all the way to the bottom of the motor. Maybe a breather hose? It stopped after leakin about half a liter of fuel. I checked the EHC and ICM while pressing the run button and here was no red light on neither. After a few tries, the red light on both the ICM and EHC went on and bike started right up. I rode it a few feet and it died again. The red lights wouldn't come on for a few tries and then they did and bike started back up and rolled it to my house. What does the yellow light on the EHC mean?

Any ideas?

Make sure that the connections at the battery are tight and clean. Also make sure that the crimp connections on the battery terminal lugs are tight.

Have you repacked the EHC harness connector with dielectric grease? If not, then disconnect the battery and remove the harness connector from the EHC. Clean out any old dielectric grease and add new grease to the male pin side then reconnect harness connection.
