After owning the Mutt for about a month I have most of the issues with electronics remedied. The only issue that remains is my speedo works intermitantly. From reading the forum I have found this is probably the battery. If I put it on the tender the speedo works. If I just let it sit overnight the battery must go down some and then the voltage is not enough to run the speedo. The bike starts and runs fine. I have a new regulator and that is charging great. Does anyone not put their bike on a tender? I am wondering what the least voltage is before the speedo problem will not present itself. I just put a new battery in for a friend. I rode the bike and let it sit overnight.; The battery read 13.1 volts. I check my battery after sitting and it is reading in the 12.6 to 12.8v area. I am possibly going to buy a new battery. What do you all think? The bike sure is a joy to ride. I love the S&S power. It is not the smoothest thing on the planet, but it gets out and hauls. I am going to get my brother to race me and have him ride my 06 Warrior while I ride the Mutt. We'll see what happens.

everyone here puts the dog on a tender. They are known for it. To prevent any battery issues just keep her plugged up to life support when she is at home in the garage.

When I first got my mastiff I had to keep it on the tender due to a problem with the voltage regulator but since I replaced that I ride every day if possible and haven't had it on the tender in a long time.

Just for info about the batteries. when i got my last new one (HD AGM) before I put the bat in the bike I hooked it to the tender to get it to a full / maintained status. It took about a day 24 hours to get the bat and tender to the maintained status. I then installed the battery and when i ride and then hook up the tender it goes to maintain status in about 10 minutes. If you get a new bat make sure its up to full charge before install if you can. Your new battery may have been on the shelf at the dealer for 6 months or more when you purchase

As I understand even when the bike is "turned OFF" the EHC still draws "juice" so always keep it on a tender!

I never put my battery on a tender... if (for some odd reason) I haven't ridden in a couple weeks (like now since my belt/pulley are all jacked up), it'll do 1 slow turn, then fire up. Original battery... 22,000 miles on it. No problems.

I got a new harley AGM battery for my mutt about two months ago. Put it on a tender for the first two weeks. Has not been on since. Even after sitting for ten days it since starts right up. If it keeps starting I will not use the tender till it gets cold in the fall. As far as the ride, I put 1 oz. of dynabeads in the front and 3 oz. in the back and it made the ride a little better. Take it up to about 70 mph and pull in the clutch and let the motor idle down. When I do that it rides much better.

Do you ever have any speedo, or other electronic problems after the bike sits? What battery do you have and how old is it? I hear you on the 70mph and pull in the clutch! Funny how that works. What I need is an old harley 4 speed with right side drive and dump the sh*t speed from the baker boys.

Do you or have you had any of the electrical problems, like my speedo that works part time? Mine fires up with no problem, its just the speedo doesn't always worky.

My bike was off the tender for 5months started rightup,rode it home from the shop about 80miles,put it back on the tender 20seconds later the light quit flashing good to go:flag:
