Well guys I'm thinking seriously about taking my Baker open primary off and selling it. It is a zero offset for a 300/330 rear tire It has less than 300 miles on It and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I just don't like listening to the Clutch rattling noise . I love the looks And I love the sound of the whining noise It makes. Thought I'd Get on here and see if anyone is interested. They were selling for $3200 when they quit making them. The price just climbed from there and I gave more than double that. As you all know they are now Non existent ( A Unicorn) . If anyone is interested Make me an offer Commensurate of what you're getting and we'll see if we can get together on it.

The sad reality is that baker is pulling the plug on replacement parts for the primary and now the dd6r transmission as well. They just recently announced they are discontinuing gear and shaft replacements for the transmission and truthfully I don’t know what replacement parts are even available for that primary. Kinda like a karata primary. Great in the day & awesome to look at. But if they get torn up now you are just shit out of luck.

I’d definitely be interested. I’d probably go $1600.
($1600 = LMFAO !!!!!!!!!! )
You add another $4900 to that + Shipping and its yours. I would set it on the shelf as a decoration before I Except a lowball offer such as that. It ain't like I need the money. Like I said earlier the only reason I'm considering selling it is I don't like to listen to the clutch rattle. It's like brand new/ Less than 300 miles.

wow. You never would say what you wanted for it and someone puts out what they would be willing to pay and you just don’t have to be an asshole about it. You paid too much for it and expect someone else to do the same because you don’t want it anymore. Best of luck to you but there is no reason to be like that.

I expected this response from you. So looking like $6500. + shipping gets it on another sled. Yeah I don’t think you can get an open primary anywhere these days for $2g. Even the price of the Ultimas went up. Would be a pretty nice mancave piece. Best of luck with whatever direction you go!
 :chopper:

I thank you for your understanding Mike.
I was not looking to get $6500 out of it. I totally had planned on taking a cash loss on it in hopes that someone on This forum could get it that would appreciate it but $1600 Was not an offer it was an insult.
If someone is truly interested in it just PM me and I will give you my phone # and we can Discuss a price and work something out.
Until that time it will be a Really cool looking piece in my Den Next to the other rare motorcycle parts From the 1920s as I don't care if I sell it or not.

Yes, you don't mind posting the part number for the belt, that would be greatly appreciated.
Give Bando belt USA a call and give them this # ( BANDO STS S14M 1120 ) and they can probably hook you up. The width is 60.00 mm or 2.36220472 in. The STS stands for Super Torque Synchronous belt. The S14M Stands for 2.0 MM Tooth Pitch and The 1120 stands for the length in millimeters. I believe this belt was used for industrial use on high performance transmissions with high torque Specifications.

Odd your baker is rattling cause the 2 bikes I have been around and worked on the baker was absolutely silent. With that said one bike that came to me to get worked on was rattling and that was because the clutch disc was installed wrong. Once I replaced with new clutch disc and installed them correctly it was silent.

Honestly I was super impressed how quite a baker is as most all of all open primaries sound like the bike is falling apart. Baker did impress me with there version.

Exactly what I was thinking Knot. My Baker is silent. I'm not an expert, but i wondered if something wasn't installed correctly.

From.what i have seen the only time baker gets noisy is from worn fingers on the clutch disc ( causing a ratchet sound) and if ran that way to long will cause excessive wear on the hub... once the hub gets worn then you pretty much going to have a noisy belt drive and a hell of time with clutch engagement and disengagement.

Secondly is the clutch disc are installed wrong. On 05 and up models the last disc before the pressure is a clutch fiber...9 friction and 9 steels...the one I worked on it had a metal last and that caused nothing but issues and ofcourse wore the pressure plate completely out.

04 and older models have 9 friction and 10 steels which a steel.will be the last plate before the pressure plate
