Things found in my gas tank on a 06 mastiff

Hey everyone I am having aproblem with the liner breaking down in my gas tank so I am sending it to fuel tank services to get relined and why moving the tank around I heard something rattling around in the tank and I retrieved to black plastic cage looking things with 4 metal discs in them was just wondering if anyone new what these could be ....thanks

Its called a fuel gizmo, made by "Fitch". Big Dog had warrenty claims pertaining to these devices because they would bounce around in the tank causing the lining to seperate in the tanks. Take them out if you can...

Thanks Wood, I've mentioned it before some time ago! Someone else had an issue with the liner peeling due to this thing... :2thumbs:

Thank you for the reply and the help that is exactly what they look like and yes they destroyed the liner do you no if they were actually put in there by big dog or was done by the previous owner of my bike

Let us know what shop you're sending it to and the cost. I may have mine relined next year.

I had the yellow liner peel off my 05, in 07 and it didn't have any gizmos in the tank BD blamed the ethanol and repaired it free of charge however they discontinued the use of the yellow liner material and went to a white that is claimed to be impervious to ethanol. So far so good.

I'm sending mine to fuel tank services in Florida little pricey $675 for my 06 mastiff tank but it is gauranteed for life Im replacing my s&S carb and I guess its just some security know its gonna have clean fuel goin tobmy new carb

$675 sounds a lot pricey, what are they doing for that much?
