Theft on Big Dogs

Hey everyone!!! How is theft out there on big dog choppers? My Yamaha R1 I have to worry about theft all the time. I have had a lot of friends that has gotten there sportbikes stolen. I wouldn't think theft would be as big on a big dog chopper because there are not as many of them out there like sportbikes. Also, I know most of the sportbikes that get stolen gets parted out or turned into race bikes for the track. What have you guys noticed out there? I am new to choppers so I really don't know. Plus, does anyone use lo-jack? Do you like it?

If someone wants anything that you own they are going to take it.
But in Texas you can shoot them but make sure you drag them back in your yard after the 1st shot :2thumbs:

Shoot'em all......

I thought Texas had a better CCW or CPL law than that? You still have to drag them on your property there? I believe that here in Michigan they changed the law on shooting criminals (laxed them up a bit)... and you can shoot to protect your property here now...

Read it - it's called the Castle Doctrine.

A Castle Doctrine (also known as a Castle Law or a Defense of Habitation Law) is an American legal concept derived from English Common Law, which designates one's place of residence (or, in some states, any place legally occupied, such as one's car or place of work) as a place in which one enjoys protection from illegal trespassing and violent attack. It then goes on to give a person the legal right to use deadly force to defend that place (his/her "castle"), and/or any other innocent persons legally inside it, from violent attack or an intrusion which may lead to violent attack. In a legal context, therefore, use of deadly force which actually results in death may be defended as justifiable homicide under the Castle Doctrine.

Castle Doctrines are legislated by state, and not all states in the US have a Castle Doctrine. The term "Make My Day Law" comes from the landmark 1985 Colorado statute that protects people from any criminal charge or civil suit if they use force - including deadly force - against an invader of the home.[1] The law's nickname is a reference to the famous line uttered by Clint Eastwood's character Dirty Harry in the 1983 film Sudden Impact, "Go ahead, make my day."

This legal doctrine is often linked to the rights of homeowners to bear arms, as defined in the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution in the case of District of Columbia v. Heller.

My Dog has two alarms "Scorpio" and "Lo-Jack" it is also protected by an expert shooter, I dare anyone to try and steal anything I own whether in my garage, on the street, at home or in my vehicles. I know my deadly force conditions, "shoot to kill" place knife in dead man hand. :D :D

I've never had one stolen, and I never heard of any stolen Big Dogs...I do not have an alarm system or tracking devices...Disc lock and full coverage ins protects my bike and provide a little peace of mind...
Chains and locks may slow them down or divert them to another easier target...
I imagine its like anything else, If they see an opportunity and want your bike they will take it. It will only take them a few seconds to load into a truck and be gone...

We had a customer who's Big Dog got stolen at a rally in another state and also a customer who brought a bike in that he just purchased on eBay and we had the ugly job of telling him that it was stolen.

There are criminals that will steal anything you have. My house was burgularized. Entire gun collection & jewelry stolen. They were caught. I won the case in court never received one dime. $27,000 down the drain.

P.S. I harassed them every chance i got till they moved out the state.

That is why I run multiple safes at my house, bolted down, a house alarm, a soon to be 150# dog, the chopper is always disc locked, and alarmed behind the garage door that is on the house alarm, and I keep my glock and shotgun load at all times.
