Thanks boys on the trees. Those are Accutronix Tribal Trees. They are the fix to what I believe is the largest problem with the bdm front end as far as looks. Well, those plus a few other things I still have to roll out. But you'll have to wait till I get the forks on.

Gas, did you go w/the 7 degree rake? Chrome or Polished?

I kept it stock at 3 degrees in the trees. More would have been nice but then I would have had to replace the legs to something like 12 over instead of the stock 10 over. Otherwise, it f's with the trail...

very nice gas......ya know, you wont be able to run the logo big dog when ya finish it.....it wont be a big dog anymore......gonna have to get a plate cut and call it a "GAS" or "GAS MAN"...... that is going to be one fine ride!!!!

Well the only bdm name left on it will be on the bars and the speedo. That's it. Otherwise, it will say Phoenix on the 3" primary belt and will have the new logo on the cam cover. :2thumbs:

Gas,..on your tribal trees, where are you mounting the signal lights? My lights are mounted on the bottom tree.

What signals? :lol: I'm not running any with the new setup!

if you really wanted to. You could get a different setup like the bar ones that go under the lower. Or just get the clamps that allow you to put some directly on the forks.

Ok well today was a decent day for getting some stuff done.

We started like this...

The chrome order from Browns came in today and damn it looks good!

Look at all this packing... these guys are SERIOUS at this.

The bling

My idea on the powder black gas tank ring and chrome gas cap... really paid off!! Cause the black ring helps to not take away from the cap!! SIICK!!

With all of that I fitted the heat shields to the pipes... damn they look F'in HOT!! I can't wait to get them mounted!!

Then I started to knock things off the list.
Finish installing the rear shocks and getting them adjusted.

Installed the bump stops for the rear suspension

Grabbed the oil tank & hardware

Slide it into place

And bolt it up

Go thru and chase all the threaded holes in all the chrome pieces. 80% of it was on the front motor mount. Did all that and installed the front motor mount.

And here's another shot of the 3" belt

Then I did the larger job of servicing my forks as I desribed in my " http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/how/2498-how-service-your-forks.html ". Replacing the fork oil, and seals. Highlight pics below.

Now I wanted to button up some of the front end. Mounted the handlebars with my new bushings and handlebar bolts* (*=you will see why in a min)

Now the reason, I got the new bolts was for the bars was for the spikes to hang off.

Here's the spikes... put some silicone on it as a "insurance" or "backup" to the set screw

Oh... and the new fork bezels. Decided to go under the lower tree cause there is already enough "going on" between the tripples

And that concluded the last day or two. With my work sked its been a blur and with very little sleep.
