Very politely ask the person for the make model, color and license plate of their vehicle and where it is parked and then tell them that you are going to go sit on their vehicle. See their reaction and then ask them why it is OK for them to sit on your motorcycle and see if they get the hint. If not, start walking towards their vehicle. If you are holding some tools it makes a better impression on the fool.

I just don't understand at all. What I mean is, sitting on someone's bike I don't even know would never enter my mind. I am dumbfounded someone would have the gall to do it.

No doubt. It would never even occur to me to even attempt that either. I am neither Chuck Norris nor Lou Ferrigno, but if I saw some stranger sitting on my bike you can be sure an ass kicking is soon to follow. What the fuck is wrong with people.:bang:

I agree with touching my bike is like touching my woman... (or worse!!! as she can throw quite awesome punches too)

So far so good... I never had to deal with it, always has been the opposite... people has been asking permission to take a photo and even seen moms & dads telling their children "you can look but you can´t touch"

I like the "I thought he was trying to steal it" idea after his jaw, nose or teeth are smashed.....

This is the best response I've heard thus far. I'm not going to shoot someone for sitting on my bike and I don't think any of you would either. Nor do I think it's a good idea to kick someone's ass for sitting on your bike if they are not aware of biker etiquette. Some people just don't understand what assholes they are and don't know that it's very improper to sit on someone's motorcycle without permission. You need to make them aware and inform them about the rule AND make them understand the rule via "toomanybikes" response by doing the same thing to their vehicle (be it a Prius, tricycle or whatever these losers commute with). However, if the person IS aware and does it anyway:loony:, then all bets are off. Or, if you catch some reprobate shoving trash into your bags:angry:, that's just asking for pain and they deserve a good lesson, political correctness be damned. Fucking PC is ruining this nation.

I would find it hard to believe that someone could be ignorant of this social meme. The old "I don't touch your shit and you don't touch mine" policy. But..... Funny thing. I'm out of town for work this week and my wife went out with couple of her friends last night. Her one girlfriend comes back to our house and see's my K9 for the first time and was getting ready to throw a leg over it until my wife told her to stay the hell off of it unless you can afford to pay for any damage that occurs. Even my wife wouldn't mess with the bike when I'm not there and here is her friend with total disregard. So I guess it's possible for someone to be clueless. I don't think her friend would have tried that with a stranger's bike(she's actually pretty cool normally), but who knows.

A long time ago a moron decided to touch my bike. Said moron will never ever ride a bike. No need to fix the problem on base, find out where he lives and take care of business.

People are just plain stupid. They have no idea of how much we have invested in these bikes and what it would cost to fix them. I just spent the best part of two grand for a two color paint job I would hate to think ow what some of your airbrush jobs would cost. People are just stupid and disrespectful. A knuckle sandwich may actually teach them the respect their parents failed to teach them.

I can't believe I just read all this and never saw anyone mention taking your "Cell" phone and videoing this person on the bike that was being "Stolen" if just a couple seconds before you did whatever your little heart desired to do. Then you at least have some "Justification" for any accused violence that he very possibly will not have on camera." Are you really sure it was this nice guy that was stomping you in the face?"
"Well I was sitting on this chopper that isn't mine to sit on,thinking about twisting the throttle a few times, going Vroom Vromm and the next thing I remember I was on the ground in great pain like Ironman had just blasted me several times." So you are not sure that it was this gentleman that actually owns this chopper you were sitting on without permission that repeatly stomped you in the face.Cop then tells him Dude after your face heals up let this be a lesson to you about even thinking of touching anothers Scooter. You crossed the line in a bad way, think about that as your face heals!

I agree with everyone else here . It is crossing the line in a bad way but that is really a rule that for most all of us is just an unwritten/ unspoken rule we just don't violate ever. and sad to say we all live in a world full of idiots that at times have to be taught little simple lessons of life before they do sit on Ironman's scooter and really do get their azz stomped.

Wow, this is amazing. Sounds like there's a group of anti bikers at this base or something with so many different instances of this stuff. It goes beyond biker etiquette it's just basic everyday etiquette as has been pointed out you wouldn't climb into the drivers seat of somebody's car. Just some real idiots out there.

Closest thing that ever happened to me was years ago in college bike was parked on the sidewalk at some buddies house (about 30 bikes on the sidewalk) I come around the corner and there's a 5 or 6 year old kid sitting on my bike. Mom is just standing there and said he liked the blue bike so I let him climb up..obviously this kid can't touch the ground and would have gotten hurt pretty bad if a 400+lb bike fell on him not to mention dominoing the other 30. I just politely informed the mother of this and they were on their way.....stupid people are everywhere.
