The Happiest Day in Your Life...

I thought other than my son being born was the Day I got my Big Dog Chopper. I know now that the Happiest day will be the Day I Sell that POS!!!!!!! I ride nice and Easy, Not once have I opened it up 100% though I have raced a few times but maybe 80% of what it can do up to 64mph. I have only done that less than 6 times. Yet, every single time I turn the corner this POS BG falls apart. I keep it tuned up, I keep her washed. Anyone know why? I have been told that this is why BD is no longer in business and I agree. I am lucky to be alive today, this one was good, my Fn rear sprocket just broke!!! a couple weeks ago it was the coil mount and my front end has always been a issue. I am going to fix it and sell this POS, any ideas what I should get next? Oh, still with the electrical issues too.

How many miles you got on the skoot? What Year is it?

How much you want for it as it sits right now? I'll take care of the pulley and coil cover save you the hassle.

Seeing as you hacve such a low opinion of it you wouldn't want to sell such a piece of shit for much, I'll give you a thousand and do the preventitive maintenance that keeps my 2004 chopper rollin, (and has never been down for more than a week) that most bike owners do on a regular basis such as checking all bolts and nuts visually inspecting all wires and taking some things apart and lubricating. I guess what I,m trying to say is it"s not the brand but some pieces that are flawed and the other 5,000 members I'm sure that love this brand for it's unique look don't mind a bit of work now and then to keep the best production choppers on the road. JUST SAYIN

Man, sorry you're having such a rough time with the dog. Glad that broken pulley didn't end up worse! Are you just venting now or is it really the end of the line? Mines been a headache at times but I can't ever see giving up...

These issues all seem minor. I'm sorry you are frustrated. These bikes will do that to you. Take some time, get her fixed up, ride on with a smile.

I am just Venting.... I love ky Bike but damn, does it have to always have something break... I check everything since the bolt that holds the triple trees on was hanging there and when I touched it, the thing just dropped in my hand. I have had so many Issues. The Pulley didn't cause any real damage, it scratched my rim a little but nothing I can't polish out and bent my belt guard but I already fixed that. Finding a matching Pullet will be tough. I Love to ride my Bike, I ride it all the time, my Truck doesn't go anywhere so my Chopper is my Transportation. I wont Sell her, I am trying to sell my Truck which is one of a kind that I have over 60K in it and I would be lucky to get 25K out of it. Anyone know what kind of Pulley I need, tooth etc..?

A lot of the problems with these bikes or any bad ass bike with a big motor is the vibration. It's part of the deal when owning a chopper. The bolt that fell off of your triple trees is something that shouldn't happen, you have to go and make sure things are tight, including the lock screw that holds it. Just before I went to Carlisle the other day I was cleaning my bike and saw one of my front fender bolts was backing out. The other three were loose as well. On the way back from Carlisle my headlight bolt snapped and and the bucket was hanging by the wire. Alphadog was with me and we were able to disconnect the battery cut the wires off and place the headlight in my bag. When I got home I wasn't happy about the chip on my fender but whatever. I couldn't extract the hardened steel screw from the mount so I took it to a machine shop. Long story short it's all back together now but that's the price you pay for being a bad ass. I Fukin love my Mastiff !!!!!! Oh btw, been there with loosing motor mount bolts clutch hub nuts backing out and other shit (the list goes on). No matter how well you maintain your bike there will always be something. I guess if that bothers some people then go buy a shinny new boring harley with a nice warranty....... Just my .02
