Well I hope we have better luck with the results of this than we did the whole "what is Uma wearing" thriller!

If I didn't know better I would say you like tweaking us a bit Gas...lol!

I hope you have better luck than I am having with HD.

They are in my engine again. This is like the 5th time.

Hell me not trusting my SG is how I found this place.

I hope to get my bike back this weekend. I hope to have 2500 miles on it by the end of March (maybe mid April if work acts up)

They owner of the dealer said if it has another issue he will make it right. Thank gawd I bought the extended engine warranty

My idea is to get out from this thing and get a K-9 or a bagger...not sure.

One thing I will say. If you can get a CVO. Their resale is a lot better if you need to sell it later.

Here is my SG.....No where near stock....

It is a shame to have so much tied up in a bike that you don't trust. :bang:

I think, if you got rid of the dog, that you should get a V8 Chopper. I was looking at them again at Bike Week. They had a bike called the Lambroghini (sp?), painted the factory Lambro color with some cool flames and ghost skulls. Had a 400+ Dart motor, 300 tire, lots of upgrades. Definitely attention getting, rideable, and Chevy reliable.
And no, I didn't buy it, but I damn sure thought about it!

Too funny Pig. I'll stick around. Rain... being I'm double over Ray i'm not sure how long it would take to surpas the post count even if i completely stopped.

I'm not really sure how much I'll do to the next one. Nothing like I did to the chop that is for sure. Especially in this market. Right off the bat and contrary to what I'm about to say... I've already ordered about $2k in aftermarket for the next one. But beyond a set of SE pipes, its mostly functional bolt ons. I don't plan on going crazy on this one.

RC, that is one sick SG. And I know that in 07 they did fix allot of problems from the 06 in the motor. Then in 09 they did a complete frame up change over. I have read a little on the touring bikes but must say its a whole new ball game cause regardless of which bike I get, it will have a twin cam.

Don't make me go up to Biker Bobs and find out myself.
Funny you mentioned BB. I checked out a few other dealers like Brighton, Tecumsea, and Town. BB was giving me a better skake on the trade. I saw as low as $17k even with pics and a spread sheet on all the mods.

Been there a couple times to talk to there new machine guy and they are hurting and have a full warehouse that they can't get rid of. My theory is as long as they are breaking even right now Harley will stay off there backs. With production being way down if they don't move bikes they won't get shit for the 2010 models.

Perhaps, but I have a strong belief in, buying where you'll service. I think it creates a better customer/dealer relationship. They've never done me wrong and everybody there always seems to bend over backwards to help out. I think its that attitude towards customer service that might drag them thru this economy rut.

Thanks.

Funny thing is they sold it to me as a 113" and warrantied it like a stock bike at my dealer.

They said they had a bunch of these 113's out there.

Unfortunately, I was the only one that actually rode mine.

On the second failure the engine was a write off. It got built as a 117" torque motor.

I just found out last night the reason they are having so many issues was the people that setup the parts never did CC the heads. The dealer got them and were told they were all set to bolt up......NOT! They were 3CC's shy of what we were told. We were shooting for 10.5:1. I think we were almost at 12:1.

I am on my third set of pistons and cylinders due to pinging that I cannot hear. The manufacturers quess is that we have the timing so far retarded that it doesn't ping it just beats the stuff up due to the heat.

Oh well, It sure is fun to watch the other HD guys freak when the front end comes off the ground. :D When it runs

Good luck with your purchase and enjoy the ride, whatever your new toy is. :2thumbs:

I don't blame you in the slightest little bit Chris and I saw this coming with your posts recently - I'm pretty sure my first experience of BDM will my last. I am a little surprised you're not doing a ground up self build though. Thought that would suit you down to the ground. Look forward to seeing the pics of the new bike.

You aren't the only one that saw this coming. Got a few PMs to the same accord. But yet people say in the barhopper thread they can't believe I've changed my tune so much. I really haven't I'm just voicing it out a bit more. Not too mention that you try to ignore the pending gloom cause you don't want it to ruin what you got.

Really the blame is all on the wife's sporty, the 883L. When I rode that to work a few times last year it was good to be on a "turn key" bike. Sure it don't get the looks and attention of the chop. But it runs and you don't worry about it getting you there or how many parts you will rattle off later. You start to just enjoy the ride for the ride and it made me remember why I made riding a part of me (well beyond trying to score pussy). Got me back to the basics.

At the end of the day, its about what I want. This is not nearly as much change as when I went from sportbikes to the chop. And people couldn't believe it then.
