Hey, Gas Man, congratulations on the new rides.

You seem like the kinda guy that's always eager to move on to something different, so no surprise here. I'm with the crowd that sez, "It's all good."

My only lament is, we probably won't see UMA on the next BDB calendar. :( :D :D :D

Tell her that me 'n Mrs. P8RIOT figure she'll look cute on WHATEVER she rides.

Yeah I think you're right Wayne... a new scoot and a new canvas.

But we could still get Uma in the calendar... That Carot Snapper still hasn't got his in the calendar so maybe I'll loan her out for a photo shoot.... :D

Chris, Congrats on the new bikes.

It's all about the ride, so ride what YOU want.

Most of us appreciate what you have done on the forum. I hope you stick around.

So Gas Man, I have to say I was amazed when I saw the big change up. I read the entire thread and will say that I almost got a street glide when I got my ridgeback and there are days I think damn I should have gotten the glide. One day I may make the switch or be fortunate enough to do both.

So I don't know you personally but feel like I've gotten to know you on this site. Just like others, your posts have helped me greatly. What an asset you have been. I know 4 wheeled machines as well as anyone as my dad ran a top fuel and then top alcohol funny car when I was younger then he made a transition into building street rods. Needless to say I have grown up around cars and know hemis, small block chevy and big block chevy motors pretty darn well. I wanted to build a custom bike but financially it didn't make sense when I compared that option to buying the dog. I have learned a lot from this site and specifically from your detailed how to's. So thank you for me and everyone else and please stick around here and let us know how the new scoots evolve. I don't run the site but would welcome the transformation of the bagger as I'm sure it will transform :2thumbs:

Thanks Al.. and I'm glad I could help ya, but I'm sure you would do fine with a background like that!

Put 50 miles on the wife's nightster today after picking it up...

And let me tell ya guys...

Before I even left the parking lot I knew it would be fun! Got onto Telegraph Rd... whipped the throttle open pretty good... OH BOY!! Its small, v-twin, and fast, not big dog fast but it goes. 20# lighter than her 883 and up from 55# torque to 79#. Can't WAIT to get the SE mufflers on it so I can hear it more!

Like everyone congrats on the bagger. For me, been there, done that. Had an 05 Ultra, and it is just not the type of riding I do. I dont think I ever put 1 thing in the bags. Also, isnt the baggers the one with the digital wireless throttle??

No shit Jim... everybody even sportbike guys like the nightster... she just commented on... "oh this is what its like to have a cool cool bike!"

Skid... we shall see bud. But I'm not its a whole lot different. It does feel like unchartered territory for me but I'm sure I'll feel a little better after I at least even bolt on a few things and/or service it once.

Stickers and reflectors.... probably... we'll see.

You'll have to change a whole lot more on that bagger to turn it into the "New Chopper" !!!:D

Bagger ain't a Chopper until the frame geometry/rake is changed in my book.

But anyway, NICE bikes, good luck, curious to see how they hold up for ya. Should do real good till you start trying to squeeze more ponies out of it!:D

Say what ever you guys want...

Rode again today... only about 50 miles and hit a little rain in my travels. Never felt a drop on the UC but the bike itself is good n dirty... oh well... will just give her a bath in the next couple days...

Also, starting working on the nightster tonight... got some of the stuff on it. Pipes are on and oh my... they sound even better on this version.
