Gotta give MARV all the credit for both figuring out the source of the noise in my (I thought) motor and for the solution to the problem.

He told me he fixed his by using a sheet metal screw to hold it in place. It worked like a champ. I did try to break it loose so I could pull it out but it was still attached at the back of the tank real good.

Thanks MARV :2thumbs:

Thank the Lord for small favors, we don't have all that "crap" put on our bikes down in the southeast. California has so many EPA restrictions, but from the pics Ray sent of the Redwood ride, some times it's worth it! The good, the bad and the ugly. Ya got 'em all everywhere.:whoop::eek::whoop::cheers:

I bought my bike in Ohio and it has the vent tube, I believe they all have this but only the canister gets installed on the cali models.

Marv must have grown up on a farm (He can diagnose any problem and give him some baling wire, sheet metal screws, a hammer and pliers and he can fix anything). GOOD JOB! :2thumbs:
Now if we could get rid of California "OVER-REGULATION":bang: we maybe wouldn't have the problems in the first place.
