I read multiple threads on starter problems here and with the many pics of exact problems I was able to remove my starter myself, take it to a local starter shop, have it repaired, reinstall it with a fresh oil change and primary oil change for under $100. The labor alone would have easily run 2 or 3 times that much at the local bike repair shop as the primary had to be split to remover starter drive on my '04. Mechanically not up to date on newer stuff, but used to do a lot of auto repair. Would not have known why the starter would not come out due to starter drive without the help from this forum. The help came from reading several existing threads, so thanks to all
