I bought my 2008 Ridgeback in Feb of this year. Had my 1st problems the other day. Dead on arrival. Tried the old school tricks with no success. I was afraid the EHC was toast. To make along story short, all I needed was a new battery. Now it spins over like it is on steroids. It has never been this good. I suspect the battery has had 1 foot in the grave since I bought it, but being a BD virgin I didn't know. I was sorta blaming the original design due to too big of an engine and too small of a battery/starter. I was wrong. It is quite comforting to know I can come on here and research my problems. It gives me more confidence. I also got an IM from Knotso with some helpful hints and support. Thanks BDB.

Seems like the batts are the first thing to always check. Mine lasted about a year. Got a HD AGM and all is good:2thumbs:

put a voltmeter on the battery while it's running to check the VR output is okay...13.5v+ when rev at 2k rpm.

keep it on a GOOD float charger when not riding!
