Howdy all.
Just checkin in with a road trip report from my mates visit from NZ. We managed to borrow a bike from a mate for him. After all the work Ive done on mine over that last 2 months getting it ready for this ride, Im glad to report she ran like a dream. Only a cpl engine blips on the first and last day and thats it. We had to wait out a big storm front that crossed over us in Texarkana the first day, but managed to get away about 1pm when it cleared up with the intent of heading to Memphis. Got through Little Rock no worries, but we caught up to the front on I40 and got dominated by the rain. We pulled over at a rest stop in Brinkley AR and called it a night. Found a hotel that was shall we say, not on the star listing system. At first leaving them outside was the only option, then I got to think.... Yea it'll fit!! Unfortunately, his didnt.

Next morning woke to some nice, cool clear skies and headed to Memphis. On the way there, I swapped bikes so he can experience the Big Dog. So here I am on his Street Glide, waiting behind some trucks to pass each other when this asshole yuppy (pretentious city dweller) cuts me off to get past. I see a little red, then proceed to chase him to give him some helpful advice on his driving style. Remember now that in on the HD. Get this..... I couldnt catch him!!!! If I was on the Dog it wouldnt have even broke 3000rpm.Probably a blessing in disguise I didnt catch him and that we didnt make it the night before. No charges and no hang over to contend with. Had a look around Beale St and had a feed at BB Kings. Then headed up to MO.
After letting the bikes rest for the night at the house we headed back down to Texarkana.
Got back to Texarkana after taking 8ish hours.
The next day we headed down to Jefferson TX for the Route 49 Rally. Nice easy Poker Run and some pretty good numbers for their first one.
Got home and gave the bike a once over. Found one of the upper engine mount bolts gone and one almost completely unscrewed. So glad I didnt thrash it the last day. Other thank that, the bike ran great and I had a great time catching up with my mate from home. Next time we'll hit more of the back roads...
Cheers all!!:choppersmiley::choppersmiley:
