I need to dump some photos I took. I'll get to that soon.

One thing is for damn sure, my +525 miles on Monday paid off. It started to rain Monday really late and it hasn't stopped raining. We are getting absolutely dumped on. I haven't looked but it wouldn't surprise me if we are north of 4" in the last few days. It would have been miserable riding in this rain. I saw a guy out today on a BMW or something metric I figured he must need to get somewhere and couldn't hold out any longer. I felt bad for him.

Anyone heard from Mike? All back that should be back? Dave is probably still out enjoying everything TN has to offer!

Glad to hear you made it home before the weather turned bad. Nothing worse than motoring in the rain on a BigDog.

Mike called Tuesday night and he was in Athens Georgia for the night...he still had around 375 miles to home...i figured he made it home yesterday but not sure on that

Well I got home at 1:30pm this afternoon.
I left late from Knotheads and only made it 100 miles the first day -- just didn't feel good so I checked into hotel.
Got up on Monday and felt worse and would have driven into cold and rain and said nah, extended the hotel stay another night and rolled over and went back to sleep.
Got up Tuesday and finally made it to where I had planned on Sunday -- Athens Ga, soft of the half way spot ( a little more than half on the way home)
Got up a little late on Wed morning and took off. I got to Santee SC about 120miles from home and stopped for a coke. My knees were bothering me something fierce, it was after 6pm (due to late start) and I would have been pulling in at dark, so I said the hell with it and got a hotel.
Checked out this morning late, had breakfast and took off for home.
Pulled in about 2.5 hrs later as I was taking it easy today.

I'll post the group photo (under the banner) after I unpack.

Another incredible Big Dog event under my belt. I'll be there as long as I am physically able and then will be there in spirit after that.

When I came out I put the kickstand up and heard it drop again -- damn kickstand spring broke!
Went in and bought a bungee cord and made the kickstand a semi-automatic -- goes up automatically when you stand the bike up!

Hell could have been worse. That tire plug got you home! Flat rear tire will stand that bike up straight too, not just the kickstand! haha

Didn't take many pictures now that I just went through my phone....go figure. I did get a damn good shot of the row of LONG front ends! Now I'm thinking about it, I think we only had a couple prostreets floating around on this one. @chubs & @mastiffdave & @Chong. Guess we can call it the Long Bike Rendezvous (LBR) in TN. :cheers: think Dave was napping for that lineup picture next to the lake, river whatever the hell it was.

My picture at the stop outside of Loretta's looks like the sun washed it away unfortunately.

Last picture was my hangup...kind of interesting to see it's still greased, just wasn't going anywhere...

Yeah, you saved my bacon again with that tool.
I'll be ordering one of those shortly, going for the version that uses the allen key to screw plug in rather than the gun (smaller total space requirement)

Clutch pushrod bearing, it's small 3/4" OD. I just didn't have a clutch. Used a sealed bearing instead of the cheesy roller bearings on the pushrod, Jim's uses that sealed bearing setup on their RSD so I use it in the Ultima RSD transmission as it's a better setup.

Have to see what went wrong to cause that, as I have the same setup in a different bike with probably double the miles that one had. There is a little lateral play in that bearing on the rod that I think may have contributed to it, but if memory serves me right there's always a little play as it's impossible to eliminate. It's just a bearing sitting on a rod with a tiny c clip and there's not a huge amount of pressure on it. I got a new pushrod coming. After some thinking, I am willing to bet it's the ball & ramp assembly in this one, it's not the same design/setup as what I have in the other bike. I liked this ball and ramp assembly more so I figured I try it, but I think it bit me in the ass. That what happens when you can't leave well enough alone...haha. You win some, you lose some.

I saw that smaller one I've only used this thing once before and it was at my place not on the road. I was looking at the smaller one and I just wonder how much more of a pain it is to get that thing through the hole manually instead of with the trigger gun. Hell I didn't pump it enough the first few tries.

Anyways it doesn't take up that much space if you lay it flat. I have it in a pouch in my main bag at the top. I honestly don't think I lose enough space for even 1 tshirts, maybe 1 sock. Which is worth it in my opinion, you can buy socks anywhere on the road you can't get tires mounted as easily or quickly. Haha

Really it got you about 800+ miles I think it will last even longer if you don't have any trips planned I would ride that one out until your next long trip

only reason to go smaller for me is to put it in the normal tool roll setup so I don't forget it.

Im the last one home so I want to thank knott ,steph and Bobby for opening the farm up for us to enjoy once again for the May Thang. I for sure understand the work and stress that’s involved for hosting these events and you three knocked it out of the park for such a memorable weekend.
This Gathering ,I believe was extra special since most everyone had tough times and trials getting to knots , but everyone made it ok and seemed to find relief being in the company of such good people after the journey. I for one was needing some R and R in a safe place so a big Thank you again for providing all the ingredients that was needed.

We went on to the smokies since it was only four hours away and so glad that we did as it just whetted our appetite to go again for a longer time.

The freightliner first voyage was a good one and so glad that I am getting rid of the newer vehicles and returning to what I know. This rig is 22 years old with only 65k on the odometer and it clicked the entire trip off at a 12.5 mpg average and never struggled. The dodge I sold would have been in single digits and not comfortable or reliable. This thing gets as much attention as the dog , it’s crazy how it attracts people.

We did the dragon and its really not that bad , in fact we had to ask where it was and was told that we were on it . I gues my puzzled look and my remark of ( I shaved my legs for this? ) was mightily humorous to the Harley group gathered around the mastiff. One guys comment was, that explains why we could not catch you coming up.

The dragon did have another victim but it wasn’t catastrophic. Damnit Dales Harley ate up the rear wheel bearings and gave no warning at all. I checked for anything odd and found nothing but in the next mile it was wobbling from side to side ,another mile and it was smoking so put water on it to cool. At this point we were within 1.5 of deals gap so he coasted and slowly made it in . So glad that it didn’t put him over the edge of the road . He did get a special ride back to camp on the back of the truck .

I finished the 200 mile loop just before dark and took the last pic on a beautiful overlook that I swear one could see the east side of the state.

Thanks to everyone that attended the gathering for helping make another piece of fantastic memories.
