I am looking for a mechanic that is knowledgeable in repairing big dogs. I am willing to travel. I am having difficulty finding one. I went on the big dog site and found hollywood cycle (no longer deals with bikes) and Jamies customs ( the big dog service tech Dan Abel left). Harley dealers wont touch the bike. any suggestions? I am in Illinois/wisconsin border. or if there are any members up in my area that wrench on their own bikes that are willing to help me out.

I use Will Smith of Pokerville Ironworks in Mt. horeb, WI. I swear by him as good and honest as the day is long.

really should think about getting a shop manual and maybe a S&S manual on your engine, manual for carb. if you have one - which you can print from their website for free , and doing your own work. with the manual and this site you will be able to do most thinking yourself. at the end of summer riding season which could go to oct. here in PA, I make a list of maintenance and other things I want to do, and am able to take a time over the winter months and fix. that way most summer all I have to do is oil changes. I have over 36000 miles and have not miss any riding. plus you will save a lot of money, and the more you do the better you will get at repairing your own bike.
