If your engine is a 107" it's a 4" bore engine that's a lot different than the 117".Mine's an s&s engine but how do I know if it's a 4" bore that will work with the tp top end or a 4 1/8" bore that won't?
I have the stock air cleaner that imo doesn't look as good but I can throw it on to see how noticeable the difference in performance is, question is whether I need to do any adjustmentsto the carb when I change the air cleaner back to stock?
Mine is a 117ci, does that mean that it's a 4 1/8 inch bore and hence not ideally compatible with TP covers? If your engine is a 107" it's a 4" bore engine that's a lot different than the 117".
If it's a 117" get rid of the TP Boxes if they are on it.Mine is a 117ci, does that mean that it's a 4 1/8 inch bore and hence not ideally compatible with TP covers?

I have a cone on mine and it runs great and has as much power as my buddy's with the velocity stack???I'd like to reiterate my comment on cone air cleaner...it's junk...too restrictive...restrictive enough to create a dead cylinder...and there's only 2...removed cone ..installed velocity stack sideways as to not have forced inductiin by installing forward...bike runs beautiful...a small picture adjustment and rolling again...sorry bout the mis info for anyone that might have used it...I got educated on filter importance
I replaced the E-carb with a G-carb. The G-carb came with a matching intake manifold.- The S&S 107 in the 04 Ridgeback (although less displacement) seemed to have more instant power, I thought maybe the Chopper is that much heavier but according to NADA there's only a 22 lb diff (653 lbs vs 631 lbs)
The 585 is a great upgrade. The increase in performance is very noticable. The only bad I can say about it is that you lose a few mpg's, but definitely worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.I replaced the E-carb with a G-carb. The G-carb came with a matching intake manifold.
Test rode the bike before and after replacing the spike air cleaner with the stock air cleaner.
The G-carb makes a difference but not the air cleaner.
Going to keep the stock air cleaner so I can ride in the rain.
Still doesn't have the instant power that the 04 Ridgeback with the 107ci had.
Will consider upgrading the cam but not if it's only the nominal increase as the G-carb then it's not worth it.
Since I'm getting barely over 30mpg it's something I'll likely hold off onThe 585 is a great upgrade. The increase in performance is very noticable. The only bad I can say about it is that you lose a few mpg's, but definitely worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
Changed the plugs and been riding it consistently and getting close to 35mpg, much better.Since I'm getting barely over 30mpg it's something I'll likely hold off on
Skip the 585 and go 600 cam(Curtis has for $99) if you have the large valves. Some 2005 engines had smaller exhaust valves to meet EPA regs. My first upgrade was a 585 cam and Thunderbolt programable ignition which was good but the move to the 600 cam was dramatic and my mpg actually went up. If you call S&S with your serial # they might be able to tell you which valves you have.I replaced the E-carb with a G-carb. The G-carb came with a matching intake manifold.
