Tail Lights and Speedo Stop Working! HELP!

When I start my bike the tail lights and my gauge lights all go off. My brake light on the right side goes on when I hit the brakes but the left one may flicker or not work at all, I was thinking it could be a bad connection in my tail light but when I took it apart it was plugged in and works when the key is in and on.

I have tried everything to make my Speedo and RPM Gauges plus the tails lights to go off when my Chopper is not running but I can't make it happen. They go off when I am riding or once I start my Chopper.

Anyone have this issue or no what could be the issue?

Have you pulled your tank and checked for grounds under the tank. The speedo and the tach are separate entities so it doesn't neccessarily sound like an EHC issue.

I will take it off and look now that you told me it could be a issue. If I wasn't be bald I would be pulling hair out now!

I took everything apart and found that my left tail light on the inside of the fender had been worn out from the tire hitting it and caused it to short out and turn off my speedo and the lights on my gauges as well as my tail lights. Problem solved but after the weekend is over. I hope everyone had a great fourth of July!!!
