my tach has quit on 3 seperate occasions. each time, it has been pretty
warm outside and humid. seeing as how I've never had the speedo apart,
anybody know what the seal is???????:

ah, no to both. last saturday, after gasing up i took off and got into 3rd gear
and twisted it a little, after hitting 3000, it quit. I thought it was the humidity.
speedo still worked, I pulled over, and let it set a minute then started it, the tack worked. I don't ride in the rain and this bike sees a squirt bottle instead
of a hose. so, I'm leaning towards a vibration issue. what do you guys think??

something simple first, did you make sure you let the speedo cycle before you started the bike? if so, take it to the dealer. especially if it is the original speedo. they have done a recall on the speedo and the mount in the past due to vibration causing the needle to bounce too much.
