TACH & HID WITH WP

I know this subject has been discussed before but can't find fix.
After the wp install the original tach goes nuts, flashing, and shutting off.
Also at high revs, and shifting up the new HID will shut down and come back on, so much so that people in front of me move out of the way thinking I'm A cop, cool but if a cop see's it, well you know. Also the Dakota digital speedo goes nuts also at high revs.
Also the new ignition switch makes the key REALLY HOT, so much so can't touch it without getting burned.
Any thoughts? :bang::bang:

What keyswitch did you use? Seems it can't handle the current for the circuit.

HID could be injecting electrical noise to the system. Disconnect it and run the bike for a test.

He used a dual position, and I did confirm the ignition switch IS bad, just by jiggling the key, the head light goes out, and the bike will also shut down.
Replacing that should clear my hid and speedo issues, but not the tach or key heating issues.

Mine key switch did the same damn thing. After I replaced it, all was good! Seems there was a bad run of these switches.

Key switch will get hot NO matter what, It is mount 1" from the cylinder head and in the aluminum coil cover that gets up to 180 degrees!

Did you mount the switch with silicone in the coil? If you did it with the set screws, If they got over tightened, it will cause the switch to not work correctly because of the switch getting smashed. If it is mounted in silicone, and it cuts out when wiggled, it is a bad one.

FWIW, my key does not get hot. Maybe warm, but not hot. Standard WP and keyswitch they offered...

True...Hot to one person is warm to another. I have the wire-plus switch in mine and it gets warm to the touch, not hot enough to remove it and hang on to it though.
