I run Mobile 1 in my 07 GMC Duramax and now after talking with you and Chopper Dave it looks like when I make my first oil change on my Dog I'll use mobile 1 as well. Thanks for the input!

Yep, here we go again LOL!! Well, my two cents is... I've used Mobil1 since the first 3 thousand mile change. I've got 15,000 on it now and i'm still using it but truthfully I might give the Lucas full synth 20W50 on my next change. If it survives those 7000 HP Top fuel motors i'm thinking it can't hurt my S&S any. Especially since I change it out EVERY 2000 miles without fail. I know, I know I'm being watefully anal. For those that know me, I Can't help myself. I like a clean Dog :)

I called S&S on this after my dog got hot one weekend and they told me Mobile 1 20/50 which I purchased from Adavance Auto and changed mine out.

New cam doesn't like it little noisy. Builder recommends straight 50 weight.
Straight 50 weight oil might be a bad idea considering your climate (cold). Some higher perf cams due to their steep ramp design will cause more valvetrain noise (valves slamming shut). Thicker oil will not cure this. As long as you are sure of your valve adjustment it should be "normal" for that kind of cam.

I went with synthetic last night. See my post elsewhere on the mess I created. But the bike runs good.
