i was wondering why it says in the 94-04 service manual that synthetic is not recommended. does it say this in the new manuals. i do not see a disadvantage to using it.

i use it in the motor as well. i just read that in the maintenance section of the service manual. i just thought it was kind odd.

Im running 10-40 Amsoil in the primary and haven't had any problems.I talked to steve in Atlanta (Bikers Dream) and there running 10-40 in theres as well. seams the shifting is easyer and the clutch is :whoop: better than ever.Had the notorious clutch hub :bang: nut problem and did a teardown and fixed it with the red locktite and inpact gun after CLEANING EVERYTHING. Just did my 5000 mile service with a service manual and the how :2thumbs: to's on here. "IF I'M WRONG ABOUT USING SYNTHETIC IN THE PRIMARY SOMEONE  PLEASE SAY SO". But like i said i haven't had any problems with it....:D

Synthetic IS Better!!

Switched my 04 Ridgeback to Mobil1 15w50 - Oil Temp went down 10-15 degrees.

Topped off the tranny with 3-4 oz. or so of the same and now I can Find Neutral!!

I'll go synthetic everywhere next time (I'll be doing my own now that I'm unemployed) :(:cheers::whoop::(

Happy Motoring!
