Swapping 250 swingarm to 300 on 08 mutt

How difficult would this be? Has anyone heard of the mastiff swingarm being installed on a Mutt? I want a fat ass on my smaller frame. :hi:

Well it won't be quite that easy. I am not sure what they do to get the tranny offset. The belt will need to be on the outside of the frame. New fender, wheel, axle, I don't think it would look right on that bike with the skinny tank. It's your bike.

No offense and if thats what you really want to do then go for it but it's been my experience over the years when I get a really wild idea to modify something and get into it only to see the total dollar figure climbing out of control, I stop and wonder, why in the hell didnt I just sell this thing and buy what I wanted instead on going this route, in the long run you would probably be money ahead if you want a fat tire bike to sell yours and buy a new one with a large tire, just my oppinion,

That might be the new plan in the making. I wanted a Mastiff but this was my first bike. Now with 3000 miles under my belt, I feel confident on top of a 300.

Mutt, I was told that the Mutt Frame was actually an 06' mastiff, didn't the 06 come with a 300? And your tank came from the "chopper"

I considered getting a Mutt, For the simple pleasure of buying the bike for much less then a mastiff, and being able to bling it out the way I want it and still be money ahead. If I remember right their aren't any wheel options with a new mast, k-9, pit, ridge nor the Mutt. But for the money you can get on a Mutt why not put some new wheels on. Do some custom paint. And still be money ahead. Trust me I'm not saying shit about buying a new mastiff for 28-36000. I would fricking love one. But buy a mutt now and slowly upgrade......whats wrong with that. My opinion that 250 will be more "user friendly" then the hot looks of a 3 hundy. Only my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the great opinions, but being that I ordered all kinds of parts for it last night I have decided to keep it. I'm looking at getting rid of those spokes with some solid wheels. Some with black powdercoating and a chrome lip. Maybe then I might try to upgrade, but for now I love my bike. Thanks for the responses.

I will. I just got 1 of my pipes. I just ordered a 18" sissy with tribal pegs for the front and back. Spike axle covers, pads for passengers. Getting ready for the Lonestar Rally. Wife wants to ride.

I looked into doing this on my Chopper, but I've got the 2004 with the Daytec frame, 250 rear, and most of my parts are right out of the PM catalog. It was a bitch: new swingarm, I was going to modify the fender myself, convert to a chain, change the tranny offsets, wheel, tire, change to a sprotor, etc. All said and done, it was cheaper to sell my bike, and buy a new one with a 300 rear. BTW, my bike is for sale, if anyone is looking for a really nice 04 chopper!

Check out the Gal. Lone Star Rally post is the dog pound. Some of us Houston natives are trying to get together before hand, and ride down in a pack. Just a thought if you're interested!
