Sure fire clutch adjustment.

I got so tired messing around with the clutch adjustment that this time around I made a little adjustment in the procedure.

I put some tape on the end of my allen wrench, tightend the rod down finger tight.
Inserted the allen wrench in the clutch rod, started the bike.
Tweaked the allen wrench about one sixteenth of a turn then run up a gear or two then try for neutral.
After a few tries out dialed right in and now finds neutral easily without clipping the throttle or turning off.

Yes it was a tight fit between the exhaust and the allen wrench but doable in my case.
I did have the front wheel against the wall for some semblance of safety while performing this procedure.

I understand conceptually what you are saying but could you please post a picture to lead my dumb-ass through this adjustment? I am not very adept at the mechanics but realize it shouldn't be too hard.

My clutch is not working up to par (bike is moving forward on start up with clutch engaged, can't find neutral from first). I don't want to spend 1K for someone to adjust something that will take me 5 minutes.

Thanks for any visual assistance.

Search "how to adjust your clutch" and you'll see the thread. Its really easy.

Also guys please remember that if you're adjusting and re-adjusting and re-adjusting every few rides...its time to pull the primary and check the hub nut. I adjusted mine once and then about 1000miles later it needed another adjustment. I pulled the primary thinking maybe I needed a clutch and even bought a new one. Nope, clutch looked BRAND NEW still. Turns out the hub nut had worked itself out about a 1/4 inch or so. I'm lucky I caught it. Smooth as butter now!
