SuperMax - Pulley tracking inward

Karata,
How would you tell which kind of belt you have?
Refer to the rotation and travel of the belt to determine what twist was inserted into the mfg. of the mandrel (belt).Belts are made on a mandrel and then cut to different widths (this is for straight tooth belts and not the Goodyear Eagle as the width of the mandrel is the finish width of the belt.
The Goodyear Eagle Belt is a Helical design and it is trapped between the 45 degree angles of the pulley and therefore it can only track in a nuetral position.

Here's the belt

The problem is with the new belt not the pulleys,I have stated before in a post about the manufacture of belts.
Belts are mfg. with the cords 3 ways:

Z Twist-----Belt will track to the Right with a CW Rotation (RSD Trans)

S Twist-----Belt will track to the LEFT with a CCW Rotation (LSD Trans)

SZ Twist----Belt will track Nuetral regardles of Rotation (LS or RS Trans)

As you can see if someone sold you the belt with a incorrect Twist you will not overcome the problem you have.

That's the belt, so does it tell us anything?

BDL----------Belt Drives LTD
PC-----------Poly Chain Belt (Gates Rubber Co. (MFG)
133----------Tooth Count
118----------Width of belt (1.180" or 1 3/16")
USA---------Country of MFG (most PC belts are mfg. in Elizabeth,KY)
010A--------Could be date of mfg code (not sure)
in reading your post I believe you have a S Twist belt as the 133T count is the same as a Harley Dyna and that would require a S Twist Belt.

SOLUTION

Well, i purchased a spacer to fit behind the pulley, but since the hub recess' into my pulley slightly i had to have the center machined. Then we put a "slightly" larger spacer between the frame and the brake (so there wasn't quite as much compression of frame). So it seems that maybe there was a spacer behind my pulley and it was either stuck on and i didn't notice it and the SuperMax people removed it, or... well, i don't know what else, but it all tracks perfect with the spacer now installed behind the pulley....

Thanks to all that came up with ideas!

Pulley good, Cable bad

Yep... and 2 weeks later.... clutch cable popped!

However, contacted Barnett and i sent them my old cable (this will be my 3rd) and they are rebuilding it free.... when i swap cables i'll send them my other cable for a rebuild too.

Gotta love and support a company that will do something like that... rebuild the cable for notta! They could easily just say "buy a new one".

Sorry

I'm sorry... Yes. I had to add a spacer, must've been on and I didn't see it when I shipped the pulley in.

I'm having the same type of issue, but my belt tracks Twords the inside of the pulley(rotor side) during normal rotation and Twords the outside of the pulley under backwards rotation. Its almost like me pulley is sticking out too much, so i dont think a spacer would work in my situation like it did for yours..

Well, I snapped the 5 pulley bolts, and I think it may have been due to adding that spacer. Any other ideas?
