We have a Sunoco station that just started carrying this. I wanted to try this but it's still unleaded fuel. Always liked the VP or purple CamII myself. Say what you want but,I like the idea of cooling the valves and having the base oil lubricant present. 3 to 1 with Ultra/CamII works great if you can find it! Our fuel suppliers have gone to shit in NY. Oh ya ...what hasn't:bang:

Do you have pinging issues ?
If not, the only thing you'll gain by using 100 octane is a lighter wallet............

So you are saying that you don't gain any greater combustion from the higher octane? I do have slight ping, but just put a adjustable TH ign. on which will solve that I believe.

RJ, I too have had a slight ping for which I will be setting the timing and possibly re-jetting when the weather gets warmer. I did use some 100 octane from my local drag strip last season and had no pinging issues at all even when hammering at lower RPM.
Should be fine with 93-94 octane with the correct tuning.

The higher the octane the longer it takes to ignite. Thus retarding the timing.
A lighter wallet indeed. Properly tuned any engine will run fine on the recommended octane.
Where's Gas Man when ya need him?
