RETIRED
You are a wise man Fiber. Your fourth sentence is spot on. My wife is my best riding partner as well. She has taken up riding herself and loves it. I miss having her on the back of my bike to be totally honest. I find it hard to ride with her because I can't relax at all. I am a bundle of nerves until I take the edge off. I hope it gets better. For me at least.
And I thought I was worring too much about my wife. She started riding her own in 07 and I am still looking over my shoulder alot. Good side. We know where we are going and when we are coming back and there ain't no bitchin, just good riding time. :2thumbs:

Yep my wife is still a fairly new rider, but she is a good rider and tends to smarter riding too. That said, I still find myself worrying about her more than I should, but as some of the others ahve mentioned, after we get moving and settled in to the groove, allot less so. Always a pleasure to have her along.

Yeah its good to pick your riding partner's carefully. but some things even if you do regular maintnance you just can't help but i'm kinda getting to where i like riding solo or with just one other rider that way i can ride slow if i want and stop when i want.

I will buy the 1st round
BOBE...its always great to have alot of friends when you get to a rally but I found it best to just ride with 4 of the guys you can ride with and know whats there next move without them saying or doing anything. then just meet up with everyone at the House....All is Good then..

Looking forward to retirement
People laugh, but when we are running with 6 or more bikes on 500+ mile rides to rallies . I usually volenteer and hook my 18' 4 bike trailer to my Yukon and load my Ultra classic up front and my Big dog Chopper in the rear. 1/2 way or if someone breaks down. Someone else drives my SUV and I'm running on the chopper. It makes it fun and safe. Plus I haul 6-5 gal. fuel cans with 100 octaine leaded aviation fuel. A. Helps burn the Ethanol better. B. bike Loves it!!!!
