Think I will set my max bid at about $4800.00-$5200.00. If I can pick it up for that then spend the winter cleaning it, polishing it, fixing the rear fender paint and this spring about March, put it up for sale for $9200.00. It would be a fun project and I would clear $4000.00.

Also I was thinking you may have to pay tax and a buyers premium to the auction house, im sure you looked into that. Say tax @7% + 10% premium could tack on another $1k to you. Almost bet when you clean it up you'll end up keepin it.

With out hearing it run,not knowing when it ran last, figure the tires are out dated and need replaced, the tank liner could be bad and are you getting a clean title or a salvage title.i would not give over 4,000 for it. Good luck!

I'm going today to look the bike over. The auction company said I could crank it up but I could not ride it. I will also check tires for cracks.i asked about the title. It's a good title not salvage title. Danz you are correct. 7% tax and 10% buyers fee so I will stop at $4000.00

Nice Find! :oldread:
Agree with all said...
Don't get carried away in Auction excitement just to win the bid! (overpay) -- it happens... ouch! :oldcrazy:

Perhaps another perspective from a 2004 Chopper owner,
It may part out for more over time on eBay and here if you have the time and patience for that kinda thing. :2cents:

Sounds like you have a good plan!

At least the wiring dosent look like it has been all butchered up. What is the date code on the tires?

I am doing a 59 Willys pick up. There are plenty of parts available for them. It is just like doing a bike. You will have more in it than it will ever be worth.

I agree! But Jake my Step son who has Autizum really wants to do a frame off. It could be a fun project for us! Can't put a price tag on that!

Kind of exciting to see if you win that bike, even a bid at 4500 then the fees you could maybe trailer that home for about 5300 or so and that's what you were planning on bidding. now you've got to see it,does it seem right overall? well good luck to you!

Hopefully this auction is kind of under the radar.
