Ok guys I’ve done some reading and have found one answer to one of my questions but have more. I have an 04 chopper and I don’t like the looks of the kind of sissy bar that is designed for that year. It come out of the strut backwards and makes a 90 degree turn up. I’m just not a fan of that. I do like the ones where the strut has the mount with the sissy bar going up. I seen where slick had posted that the 05 will fit on to the 04 but what I’m wanting to know is how much fabrication had to be done for it to fit. Has anyone else done or tried this? If so what kind of work had to be done for it to work?

Ok guys, just found a message from Slick, he says the 05 chooper sturts will work on the 04 chopper. The only mod that has to be made are 2 holes on each side drilled into the finder for mounting the fender and tail lights.

I have 04 Chopper DT and I put 05 chopper DT struts and sissy bar on. had to drill some new holes in the fender, more than one and had to make spacers to bring the struts off the frame about an 1/8 of an inch. i guess my 04 fender is a 1/4 inch wider then the 05. i did not like the look of the sissy bar out the back either. ill try to get a pic up.
