Proper preventive maintenace never hurt anything.


If you take anything apart and put it back together as good as it was or better, it can not be worse.

Curtis and i did ours prior to our long trip. Pulled it apart to see if our modifications worked. Well after almost two years and thousand's of miles it was in great shape and bone dry

Excellent job with removal, disassemble and reassemble...

I remember there were some issues with the primary leaking into starter. Not necessarily with your bike just in general.
