Dave, you haven't used yours yet, have you? I know that you mentioned it was too cold out still.

There are t-shirts...I'm not selling them (at least not yet) but I can look into it for you.

Thank you all so much for your orders! I really appreciate it.

Here's the scoop:
(maybe I can get some advice)

I have alot of inventory that I haven't had time to list...mainly due to the shows. One of the products that I hadn't listed until this week was the Stripper Juice. I mentioned it to Chopper Dave and he said to throw a can in with his order of shirts, which I did. So his was shipped out before I listed the product on the site. Since I listed it, I have received quite a few orders from you all (thank you!) and someone pointed out to me that because it comes in 'pressurized container' that it needs to be mailed as a hazardous material.

Sooo...instead of packaging up everything last night and having the packages picked up, I read up on the postal manual online and decided to ask a couple questions at the post office as well as get those plastic pouches because the hazardous materials form needs to be attached in triplicate. I went to two different post offices and no one had a clue about packages classified as hazardous. This was a busy day for the shipping dept. at Biker Babe Bling and hopefully everything will arrive properly because like I said...no one could help me.

Anyway...that said...is anyone here knowledgable on shipping this type of product? All these hoops that I jumped through was for shipping Priority...I wouldn't have to do it for Parcel Post but that would take a while for people to get their packages. Same for UPS Ground....plus the shipping would cost more than the product.

I kind of get the feeling that people ship without disclosing this stuff. I mean I've had hair spray shipped to me...and I shipped Chopper Dave's without knowing.

Any advice?

Kathy I think that on the cartons it comes in you will see "ORM-D". If this is the case it is listed in the Hazardous Table as a Consumer Commodity and is not required to be disclosed as Hazardous when shipping. And you are right. A lot of people do not disclose what they are shipping.

From what I read that is the case if you don't ship by air...but is required if you do.

I am a shipper for an oil and gas company here in houston. I have shipped hazardous material but mostly are dealt with private freight company. Ups and Fedex are two of the main companies I deal with everyday. Pressured cans are hazardous material and must be marked on the box at least four sides in big black markers and no other writings or images on the box unless its a shipping label. I dont deal wiht USPS very much but do know that they do require you to let them know and mark it in big and black on the box. there is also a fee for hazardous material and requires special handling for them. Just saying!! (I prefer UPS for any shipments because down here Fedex ground picks up on the next day and they tend to forget, so annoying and pisses my customers off :bang:)

Sinister Dog, first I wanted to say that I got your PM and will address it when I get home...that's a lot of typing on my phone! Second, thanks for the shipping info.

UPS/Fed-ex shipping would cost more than the product so I think after I ship the next order, I'll switch to parcel post...hate to do it but it seems to be the best option.

Thanks all!
