Strange Rattle Noise

I have a strange rattle/vibration noise coming from my tank on my 04 Chopper. I have checked the tank and it is tight. It only happens when the RPM's are up a little, not at an idle. Any suggestions? Again, I verified the 4 screws on the bottom of the tank are tight.

don't let ray tell you that you need to rebuild the top end!!!!!!!!!!! check the vent tube in the filler neck. they have a habit of breaking at the lip and rattling. there are threads on this so just do a search.

I could feel my tank vibrating so I took it off, wrapped the rear grommet with electrical tape to make it a tighter fit and the vibration went away. Just a thought.

It appears my rear was slightly loose.

I found the issue...the top of the vent tube came loose. So am I to understang correctly that i can just put a screw in the end of it to hold it in place. Let me know if I need to post a pic of it...

Yes, I learned the trick from Marv. I have a photo on here somewhere of it but I'm not looking through 37 pages of photos!!! :D

Just use some angled needle nose to grab the tube and put the right size sheet metal screw in it. Mine last for a while then came off again. That was when I thought it was my top end and took that all apart!!!

Good luck
