Stranded Dog

My patience and knowledge gave up. I just brought it to a professional shop to figure it out. Hopefully I won't get bent over too much
Nothing wrong with that, at least you could tell them what you did to trouble shoot it and could give them a knowledgeable and intelligent description of the problem/symptons. Please share what they finally figure out, it will help all of us.

Best of Luck Dave, hope you are up in running soon!

Hey Larry,
Thanks for asking. The bike is still in the shop. Chose to go with a new ignition system (craneHi-4) and the shop is going to wire directly to battery and coil and bypass the EHC and thunderheart ignition module. They told me this way the bike won't leave me stranded with no spark like it has been. In the event my EHC craps out, the bike will still run and get me where I need to go. My biggest fear was driving down the road again and having the bike quit and the traffic behind me doesn't know and I cause an accident. When I save up some additional money I will be ordering the wireplus from Jake to keep handy.

OK all got the call yesterday that the bike is done at the shop. New crane ignition installed along with coil, wires and plugs. They told me that they wired the ignition direct to battery-coil and key switch. Since it bypasses the ehc they said the kill switch on my handlebars will no longer work. WTF!! that's bs and I said having my kill switch not working is unacceptable and unsafe.

masstexas is either spam or on the wrong website. His 4 posts reveal nothing about motorcycles. Hopefully, he will be removed at this point.:job:

Hey Earl,
Sorry for the delayed response. I took the bike out to County Line Choppers. They are on Route 48, in Phoenix NY. I aslo heard Rob's Cycle in north Syracuse works on the Big Dog's as well.

Hey Bobby,
Yes the bike is fixed (hope I didn't just jinx myself). The new ignition system (crane Hi-4) is now wired directly to battery and coil and bypasses the EHC and thunderheart ignition module. In the event my EHC dies, the bike will not die on me. The only downside is the kill switch on the bars was also bypassed so I have to turn off the bike with the key switch
