I don't either. The guy who did the install has degrees in electrical engineering so I didn't argue.
:hi: Just a thought, Jeff: maybe that magnet holds the reed switch open, like those little battery operated door alarms. You know, the ones that when you open the door make that ungodly scream:oldwtf:. Could you possibly move the magnet closer to the switch and see if it helps? ((just a thought) Good luck and stay safe:yesnod::chopper::oldsmile:
Front brake firecracker pulled out and held 4"away. No difference brake light still on

:hi: This is getting to be really fun, trying to solve the mystery:oldconfused::yesnod:. Just like Franco's "mystery rattle". What does the winner get? c'mon Jeff find that gremlin and let us know the answer to the riddle! :old2: :chopper:

If you have the old style pcb where the switch is soldered rather than plug in type, check closely right where wires ho into board. They wear right there easily and may be shorting out
Shouldn't have that as it's an 2008 that was 04 only. Unless someone replaced it with the old style

So we know it's not too close now you Need to unplug it from the control board.

Also try unplugging the board completely see if the light goes off.

Oh shit now I get why you got a relay you are in Oz have the euro signals with running lights and break lights separate?

I have that board (soldered), however i do have several others.
I will remove the present item and replace it.
One thing i did not mention, i had my brake lite working fine as i bled the brake (rear) at the end i gave it several good hard pumps and the lite stayed on, however i have since replaced the pressure switch with one from WSW and re-bled. Light still on.
I will go and change board now.

Who would have thought that the PC board in the front brake would be the fault.
This problem has troubled be for over 4 mths now.:oldswear:
I replaced it with a brand new board that has a non soldered Push on style so i removed the fire cracker and to my joy i can now go for a ride and only get pulled up for -speeding, forks too long, noise, RBT, just wanted to look at it and do a summons check and the usual "let's pick on this dude cause he looks cooler than us".:dupe:
So a very big thank you to all those who once again helped maintain my sanity.:old2:
One day someone will make these things electrically bullet proof, but for now i am a happy camper.
