Ok, here's the scoop..!! I emailed landmark Mfg about the availibility of new gas caps for my Mastiff, and they answered saying I needed to contact BDM, specifically, Mike Simmons. Well,......I went to the BDM website and made my request and sent it using their website contact us button. Dan Weins got back with me and gave me a parts # for these caps and told me to contact a dealer for help. Hence, I shot Biker Babe an email and she told me that part # was for a ratchet cap for the right side. Will this work?? Anybody got a good part # for my stock caps, minus the Landmark paint savers? all I need is the caps for right and left side.

Why is life so difficult??

Hippy,
That ratchet cap is the replacement for the old style. It's a fix for those who had a problem over tightening the old style.

I just read your earlier email. That is the correct part #.
They went to the ratchet. I guess I didn't explain well. The left side is the same as the old style because BDM no longer made the dual tank model so didn't feel the need.

I'm bidding on the caps on Ebay for now..!! I'd rather keep the stock look..!!!

What caps did you replace them with? I have been looking for other options for my 04 mastiff.

If your bro doesn't want your gas caps, would you be willing to sell them? If so, how much. Mine are REAL tight on my 03 Pit, could use a good pair of working ones. Thanks. Jersey James

isub.i removed my paint savers which was easy since i repainted the bike.im using late model harley caps.i had to file the plastic where it screws on to the cap to make them fit in the tank hole.i also used the rubber gasket from the paint savers to make the caps fit flat.the caps are very low profile, hope the helps you.only took me about 30 minutes, good luck:cheers:
