Stock air cleaner screen???

I bought a newer style stock air cleaner to put on my 03. I saw where the front part of the cover can be removed and a screen put in its place but I cant remember where I saw it. Anyone seen this that can point me in the right direction??

BDM sells a louvered plate that looks good in the front of the air cleaners. Either contact Nelson on here or check on Ebay.

Yea I saw that one. But the one I had saw was more of a mesh type made by one of the aftermarket guys. Ive looked at so much stuff I cant remember where the hell I saw it.

I am also working on some polished stainless steel mesh grilles for the air cleaner that will look like the material in the Cadillac CTS-V. Should have them worked up soon.

I made the cover for my stock cover out of "hardware cloth" this is 1/4" wire mesh that is galvanized. Took off my factory cover and used it as a templete. The new material had a mill oil film so I cleaned it, sprayed it with red oxide primer and then a final coat of what is called bumper chrome spray paint. The hardware cloth is typically sold in 2' widths by the lineal foot. I think I paid about $4.00 for two sq ft of the stuff which will make a lot of covers. I am doing mine all out of aluminum mesh now and want to do polished stainless so they look as close to chrome as possible without the issue with rust after a few chips.

I should have the polished stainless ones rolling by the weekend of the 16th and ready to ship. The material shipped out & already on it's way here. I'll post pics when I get some done. They should be just about the same price, unless I do the aluminum polished trim along the edge like I am planning to make it a bit more custom looking. :2thumbs:

Mesh material came today and will be working on these tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully I can get some finish product pics posted up by wednesday or thursday at the latest and be ready to ship them.

Got some put together today. The aluminum trim, seens how it is extruded aluminum, doesn't polish as nice as I wanted (left screen). So I used some chrome edge molding and they look nice and keeps the price down where I can sell them the same price as the silver ones. Actually I'll be replacing the silver ones with these. The stainless mesh is very nice looking:

Mesh air filter screen....Looks great....!!

I received the mesh air filter screen from Jake and it looks great. It fit like stock and was very easy to install. Take a gander at the pics...!!!
