Sticking Shifter

Alright guys I washed my bike and after I dried went for a ride and immediately noticed my shifter won’t return to normal position after downshift or up shift. I don’t know if I might have messed up the lubrication or something. Is there anyone with the same issue?

Sounds like ur heim joints on ur shift rod is sticking....might try to lubricate them or buy new one....think there are around 25.00...one is left handed thread and the other is right handed....Donna has them in stock

I would take it off if it was me.. just take the bolt out of each end....probably spray them with some lubricant and find you a bolt to stick thru the hole and work the swivel around while you got it off and lubricating it

I really appreciate the help, seems like it’s been one thing after another but just means I’m taking care of the problems now.
No problem thats what we are all here for is to help eachother if we can...
Like i said in a earlier post Donna has the hiem joints if u need new ones...they have some on ebay right now or you can call and get them....just remember, if you take the hiem joint out and decide to replace them measure the hole centers before screwing them out so when you install new ones you can be back where the originals where, just makes it easier in the end by doing that and less adjusting

FYI, when re-assembling make sure each of the heim joints are in line with each other. even 5 degrees off can put a bind when it comes to smooth shifting. also, wd40 is not really a lubricant, it's a penetrant. use something like a Teflon spray.

If I could not remove and can reach it from here, I rip a piece of cling wrap off, halve it for strength, where's me grease gun? I now wrap the joint, ball the cling as if I'm putting on a diaper, squeeze the grease into the joint/arm/ball/shaft/pin/whatever, rip a paper towel off, wipe the the rest off because the squeeze can't be wiped, right? Pushed the water out killing two joints. Who's got a lighter? Someone said joint.
