Put a set on last week and bike rode like hell. I had lights flashing speedo was jumping from 70 mph to 0. I was glad pig pen was carring an extra set of wires under his seat, switched them back at the bar and bike ran great again. The wires looked real sharp but wtf... If you own a set I would keep my stock wires under my seat just in case. It could have fucked up a good ride. I have a brand new set of Blue wires with 5 miles on them going cheap if anyone knows of some one that can use them. I don't recommend them for the Big Dogs!
I have the problem child bike, it is allways something. I think the wires look great but they just don't work on my ride.![]()
i also have had them since the beginning of this season and no problems
There are always exceptions... but its mostly true to cause problems.I've been running those wires for 8000 plus miles already and no problems. If they are arcing, they may have a crack in them or may not have been produced right. Try a different set and see what happens.
Yep, I really am "Slow"...
Just installed a set of Magnum Chromite II spark wires on the K9. PtNo 3030C used, but not without complications.
These wires are approx. 1/2" shorter than the stock Accel 8.8mm wires. They do reach, but the difference in length caused the metal cup covering the braid to rest on the top cylinder head fin on each side.
I added a small Adel clamp to each coil mount screw, and used these clamps to anchor spot ties to hold the wires in a position where the metal cap cannot touch the fins.
Looks good, at least I like it, and runs good too. 'Course I'll always carry the take-off wires in the tool kit...
Here's what it looks like, and what I did to stack the deck in my favor:
