12.75" not including the heim joints or jamb nuts. this is just the bar itself on an '07 K9.

i would say you would need to replace with the correct length.

not sure what the standard length is...seems like everyone's is different.
When I replaced my shifter linkage to the Wicked Image one...my measurements
of my stock linkage was 14 5/8 the rod itself or 16 5/8 from center of eye to center of eye of the heim's

I have a spare shift linkage with heim joints and it measures 12.75" without the heim joints. Was going to cut it up and make a different shift linkage. After you install your new forward controls and get a measurement let me know if you need it and I'll make you a deal on it.

looking at the manual there's no length measurement called out. With the linkage removed from the shift lever at the controls, the lever is free to rotate between its stopping points. The linkage is adjusted to put the lever in the middle position between these two stopping points.

I have a 16.5" rod (not counting heims) that I can part with if I can find a 15 to 15.5" rod, if there was one made.

I wish I had more money.
I know of a guy who was in a bad wreck and broke his legs. Later that year he had the pins removed. He then took one and had it mad into a shift linkage.

On my 06 Pitbulls the shift rod-linkage itself is 14 3/4" , and it's 16 1/2" from eyelet to eyelet (center) of the heim joints.
YES I would suggest the standard length linkage shift arm that was removed from the K-9 be re-installed with stock forward controls .
However I do not know what that length is .
Seems quite a bit of "variance" from model to model according to the posts here.

Like Ringo said : Theres a bit of "free play" in the shift lever on the forward controls between 2 stopping points(backwards towards the transmission & forward).
How many inches *forward/extended* were the old foot controls...?
Whats the extended rod length measure....?
