Stator Question

Energy One
So washed the sled the other day.... I know never spray water yeah yeah... turned the bike over stator plug started smoking shut it down immediately.. Tried again same thing...

Pulled out the electronics cleaner and q tips and cleaned the contacts kind of dirty... starter the bike up no issues....

Pushed on the plug and got a spark from the set screw? with some smoke.. shut it down and cleaned the contacts again no smoke bike is running great...

on the fence of ordereing a new stator ?? waste of money??

Curtis checking out your stators and may be calling you soon... Wondering if the set screw damage the plug?

There is a small square metal piece between the wires that the set screw is supposed to seat against but if you somehow miss it then you can end up screwing into a wire.
Try adjusting the case plug slightly so your set screw hits that little plate instead of the wire.

Got it ! fired up today, no smoke and battery is charging. I think the connections were dirty sprayed electrical contact cleaner on the plug ends and cleaned the connectors they were pretty dirty. Also readjusted the set screw !
Thanks again,
