When I plug my regulator to the stator... does it matter if I plug it upside down from how it was originally connected? I only ask because it easily plugs in boths ways, and if I flip it, it feels more secure. thanx in advance friends=)

No plug on mine. It kept coming loose so it is now hardwired and I don't have to worry about it. I dont think matters.

Thanx friends, I'll keep it plugged the way I found it. I suppose with alternating current the phase would be reversed if I plugged it up side down. I wish they made it to where you could tell which way was right side up.

Good point Dennis. I just want it to be secured you know. I'm probably just going to go the route Mike did and hard wire. I mean I already chucked the computer, rewired with thicker wires and replace bd controls with harley controls.. and that's worked out great for me. Ever since I got the wire bugs out of my bd, she's been running like a champ(27,420 miles since the rewire job)

No direction does not matter -- AC, single phase!
Before hard wiring I'd consider using some clear or black silicone to hold the connector on tighter. Easier when you have to replace the voltage regulator down the road.
