Ok,
maybe this is a stupid idea but after my VR crapped out on my last weekend and having to troubleshoot my charging system (thanks NT and Ohmster!) I found that it was a little tricky checking my stator output VAC if I was by myself.
Trying to read the meter while keeping the meter leads in the right holes without touching put me a bit outside my comfort zone.
Took the stator connector off my old VR and crimped some alligator clips on the ends and whala!
