Our city's electricty has been out since then till about 11 P.M. last night.Mine is still out at home I'm on the computer at the station it just got back up today.
We had a ice storm like I have never seen hit here Tuesday nite and knocked power to or hole county and most of the surronding countys. Its going to feel good to get back home if I ever do.

Hope all is well with you all in the stricken areas.

We went thru a deep freeze, followed by record snowfall, then straight into record rains with a pineapple express melting snow, combined with the freezing level going up to 8500 feet, which resulted in serious flooding.

Our hopes and prayers go out to all that are getting thumped on this year.

This is a seriously fuked up global warming winter.

T.Byrd,
Know what you're going through. My dad lives in Central City, KY. Tried to take him a generator, but couldn't reach him until Saturday, from all the roads being blocked by trees. It looked like a war zone. I lived there for 24 years, had a rough one in '93, but I've never seen it that bad.
Hope everyone gets power soon & things return to normal.
Take care,
John :flag:

My co-worker lives north of Crofton KY and had to take vacation Tuesday-Friday last week due to the ice storm. So many trees down not to mention no water or electricity that he was just stuck. He was smart enough to go to his camper the night before and get his generator. He still does not have power today a week later and they are not even expected to have some of the right a ways cleared until Thursday or Friday so they can start to pull in new lines. I looked at a lot of pics he had and the ice just destroyed everything....
Good luck bro,
Neil

I totally feel for you. In December, we had an ice storm that shut down most of NH. 250,000 homes with no power. Temps were 0 degrees, and no power for almost a week. Some people went without power for 3 weeks. Never thought I'd need a generator, but after no power or heat for a week, I'm getting one now.

No electric yet!

I'm in Lancaster, KY. I've been without electric at home since morning of Tuesday Jan. 27th. I've been burning small propane heaters in the garage located at end of basement and burning a fireplace in the basement and 1 upstairs. I've been cooking and heating water on the outdoor grill. I'm going through about 30 lbs. of propane daily. I figure if I can keep the basement warm enough my plumbing will be OK and the heat will radiate upstairs. I cut fallen trees and limbs from the yard, barnyard and 1 field last weekend. It's a pain in the ass but I'll live.
