New here to the forums and looking for some help. I have an 07 K-9 with the upgraded EHC. I was riding one hot day this summer idoling at a traffic light when the bike just shut off like someone turned off the switch. I managed to get it to start again several times but it kept shutting off. I finally had to have it towed home. After getting it home it hasn't started again. Engine turns over but it wont fire.

Could be multiple things. JBM is correct imho.... check fuel, spark, & work from there....
I had an issue for over a year that it would shut off during higher rpm.... sucks when it shuts off when passing at 95mph ... finally found that the connector in the bars was loose & vibration would cause it to short across the starter button & shut the bike off . Fixed & no issues.

Welcome from NJ,
Usual suspects,
1: Bad or loose battery connections
2: Low charge on battery caused by problematic battery (internal short) or Charging system. Needs to be minimum 12.8 vdc fully charged and 13.6 to 14.5 while charging above idle. If the battery is old get a new one.
3: Crank Sensor (signals ignition system)
4: Coil (makes spark)
5: any other ignition system failure

Of course it could be fuel related but if you go through a bunch of links on this (very common) issue you will see it's usually an electrical problem. Especially if it seems to happen when it's been warmed up. Good Luck and come back if you need any other troubleshooting help. Plenty of guys here willing to help.
