I have a 2007 big dog bulldog with the IFI Ignition system. I'm having issues with the starter kicking out before it starts I put a bump start on it it will start with that what is causing The starter to keep kicking out?

Well what do you expect with an IFI (iffy) ignition system!


But seriously..,
First, Check your voltage on the battery
Second, check your Compression releases (you should here them click or you can fell them.
Third, check your battery. Can't emphasize this enough! Have it load tested. Needs to be 12.8v with bike off.
How old is the battery?
Is it rated at 310CCA (real)? A number of batteries list the CCA with false numbers.

Start with this and report back.

Contacts in the solenoid being bad wouldn't that kick out even with the jump pack? He says it starts with jump pack, so I figured battery.

I did all that I even pulled the starter out and rebuilt the The starter solenoid. Still doing it.

Not getting enough juice to starter..low battery...
Or your battery connection isn’t tight.

Yours comes with those cheap posts, that you have to use the flat nut in it. The one I showed, has solid lead posts.

I'm pretty sure you are wrong about that. The last 2 or 3 duracells have not had those stupid nuts. I'll check mine in the morning to be sure.

I don't know if that's a Deka battery underneath, but I did buy the Duracell battery from batteries plus for my dog a couple years ago. Needless to say, it JUST died, so I'm going to order the Deka from Amazon.

I have the same Deka for years, it’s went through a bad voltage regulator, both compression releases giving out on me... needless to say, it’s why I would trust Deka as well
