Like Paul said check the bolts first, manual calls for antiseize on those bolts I go against the grain and throw on a little blue loctite.
Next up the clunk could just be some carbon buildup on the compression releases so they aren't functioning 100%. Easy enough and cheap to Just replace them both.
Don't let the clunk linger too long cause you'll end up eating up the starter ring on the entire clutch assembly and Baker used to make you buy the whole assembly not sure if they changed that recently. But the first two ideas are the cheapest and to get them out of the way the sooner the better...been there done that
