Can any one PLEASE!!! help me??? My starter will click the soleniod but the starter will not spin. Battery is good. I took off the soleniod cover and pushed the plunger and it turned the motor just fine. Cleaned the contacts,Cleaned it with electrical cleaner and put it back together and it does the same thing. PS Its been a (((LONG))) Gray winter, And now it is sunny in Utah and I would like to ride. THANKS!!!

I had it load tested. And I still felt like it might be the battery so i bought a new one.
It will spin the motor and start right up if i push the soleniod. Do you have any ideas???

something i was not really aware of and apparently neither was the garage that sold me the batteries, the battery needs to be on a slow charge on a trickle charger (not a tender, they won't do the job) for about a day for them to reach their maximum potential for depth of charge. you may have bought a new battery but it still may not be any good. and, no, not all batteries are created equal. H-D, braille, big boar, they will cost you a little more up front but will give you better service in the long run.

not sayin' to go out and buy another battery, just sayin' the one you got probably needs to be thrown on the charger for a day and then see what happens. that way you are not out more money.

Is it possible that the starter relay is taking a dump, not sending enough juice into the starter to make the plunger pull in? I'm no expert but.................

Check the starter solenoid wire for voltage reading to ground during startup without it connected. Should measure near 12 volts. Your battery must be 12.8 volts minimum off the charger for an hour to be good enough.

Hi, THANKS!!! for your information, I do not have any power comeing out of that wire. I have a Wire plus in my bike. Do you have any other suggestions? The green wire comes out of the wire plus module and goes to the starter soleniod. I grounded the meter black to the battery, Put red into soleniod wire plug,Turned key on and pushed the start button
and there was no voltage. Can you PLEASE help me.

Don't push the run button when you start it. Turn the key on and push the start button...:2thumbs:

Hey Bro!!!
Thanks for the information on the wire needing near 12 volts. You helped me fix the problem. I pulled the wire off the soleniod again and the conector just disnt feel right in the heat shrink, So I cut it back and the conector was broken at the wire. I replaced it and it works fine now. Your (((AWESOME))) Thanks again. Just waiting for the storm to pass and I will back on the road.
