Starter whining

I have an 02 Pitbull I started the bike up an my starter was whining, any suggestions on what the problem might be? Starter was tested it sounded good. It has the push button switch on solenoid contacts a little dirty but overall not bad!!!

if your describing the whining Im thinking of when you say that, then thats typically not good and is a insight into a coming starter rebuild or replacement. I have seen a bad ground be the cause of such however.

Ya thx I noticed that the gear to engage the starting isnt reaching the main gear to start its not pushing out far enough I should say! So i'm jus rebuilding the starter!
